Gain favor of the other party by showering them with compliments. Tell them that they are smart, beautiful, funny, etc. Act impressed by their accomplishments and ask them to tell you more. Listen intently to whatever they have to say. Enhance your words with body language, as appropriate.
Receiving compliments and making someone feel good about themselves immediately creates a bond between you and that person. They then will want to reciprocate good will and be more receptive to what you tell them, or what you ask of them.
Ensure that you are doing this all with sincerity. If you have ever received obviously false flattery, you can attest that it has the opposite intended effect.

You want your husband to complete his Honey-Do list today. Then you think a romantic evening out sounds just about right.
